An athletic, imposing goalkeeper raised in Canada, Goodman has stepped up to the top Academy level between the sticks and even competed with the first-team in 2022/23 pre-season. Internationally he has been recognised internationally by England Under-18s.
Visiting Norwood and Brixton Food Bank during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Goodman spoke of the importance of the club in supporting the wider community, volunteering his time to see the important work up close.
Goodman made 19 league appearances for the Under-18s during the 2021/22 campaign, keeping six clean sheets as Rob Quinn's side finished third in the U18 Premier League South.
The following campaign he began to train regularly with the first-team and featured in the pre-season sides against Gillingham and Ipswich Town. His performances early on in 2022/23 earned him a place on the first-team bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers in October 2022.
The goalkeeper signed a contract extension with the club in November 2022. He made the first-team bench three more times in away trips to Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal and Southampton.
In the semi-final of the Premier League International Cup against Valencia, Goodman made a crucial save during the penalty shoot-out to help Palace win 5-3 to make the final. He finished the 22/23 campaign with 28 appearances in all competitions, keeping seven clean sheets.
Ahead of 2023/24, Goodman joined League Two Colchester United on a season-long loan in July 2023. He went on to make 40 appearances in total for the Us, keeping four clean sheets and saving two penalties.
Goodman was also named in the League Two Team of the Week on two occasions, as he helped the side to survive in the fourth tier on the final day of the season.
In July 2024, Goodman returned to League Two as he joined AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan. Goodman was given the No. 1 shirt and quickly made it his own, being the goalkeeper of choice at Plough Lane.
He played in 53 games across all competitions for the Dons, winning the Golden Glove award by keeping an incredible 25 clean sheets. Goodman was also named in the League Two Team of the Season, as he helped Wimbledon to promotion to League One via the play-offs. In the play-offs themselves, he kept three consecutive clean sheets in both semi-finals and the final.
The young shot stopper joined Huddersfield Town on loan in July 2025, ahead of the 2025/26 season.
