Potter: The players were outstanding

A delighted Jo Potter gave her thoughts to the media at full-time, after she saw her side beat league leaders Charlton Athletic 3-2 in front of a bustling Selhurst Park.
Hayley Ladd, Kirsty Howat and Abbie Larkin all scored against the Addicks to secure all three points in SE25, keeping Palace's promotion hopes well and truly alive with three games to go.
Reflecting on the game at full-time, Potter said: "I think we deserved the three points. We created a lot of chances, their keeper made a couple of outstanding saves, especially the one she tipped onto the bar from Larko.
"We've scored three excellent goals. I thought Charlton were back to themselves today after a rough couple of weeks, but they showed up today, you could see that they were up for the battle.
"They took us all the way, so I'm really proud of the players today - they managed to stand up, especially with their second-half performance, and come away with a massive three points."

Charlton took the lead on the 39th minute, but Ladd's goal in the third minute of added time meant the Eagles went in level at half-time.
Potter was keen to highlight the significance of a goal before the break.
"Huge. Just before half-time, Hayley's really pulled one out of the bag for us there because it was a massive time for us.
"Going in at 1-0 - you could see how they were slowing the game down.
"Charlton are excellent at that and I'm here for it. I think there's a part for that in the game and I respect it, as infuriating as it is to be on the receiving end of it.
"It was a massive, massive time for us to score," she said.

Howat and Larkin scored in the second-half to put Palace into what seemed like a comfortable lead, before Emma Bissell's 80 minute penalty reduced the deficit to just one.
Potter spoke about the feeling in the dugout throughout those nervy final moments.
She said: "We just felt like we were getting sucker-punch after sucker-punch just as we were getting into a good rhythm.
"As I say, Charlton do that extremely well. I thought the girls managed it really, really well because they could have got really frustrated.
"I was getting frustrated on the side and they didn't - they managed it extremely well.
"That last five minutes or so, they managed the game really well.
"They put the ball into certain areas where we needed the ball, bought fouls, bought free-kicks, bought throw-ins in certain areas, and it just killed the game for us.
"It was a nervy last ten minutes - I was feeling it, but the players were outstanding."

The result marked Palace Women's first win at Selhurst Park since the 3-0 win over Watford in March, 2024.
The Palace boss spoke about putting on a show for the fans before the game, and looked back on a brilliant day at the office for her team.
She said: "Honestly, the fans were great today. It's amazing to play in your home stadium in front of a really engaging set of fans.
"We heard them from the first minute to the last, and you can see it really, really helps the players. We want that week in, week out.
"There's three games left. We need the fans to come down and help us, and hopefully we can keep producing performances like that."
You can be there to support the team next Sunday, as Potter's side host Ipswich Town at the VBS Community Stadium.
