Wales
Josie Green & Lily Woodham
It was jubilation in Dublin for the Wales team, as they beat Ireland 2-1 to seal their place at Euro 2025 in Switzerland.
Josie Green was brought on as a sub in the first leg and played the full 90 minutes in Dublin, winning the Player of the Match award.
Lily Woodham scored the first goal of the tie in Wales, meeting Jess Fishlock's cross with a superb volley into the corner.
She then turned provider in the second leg, threading a brilliant ball through to Carrie Jones who finished superbly.
This result means Wales have qualified for a major women's tournament for the first time ever, with Woodham leading the celebrations in the changing room.
Palace striker Elise Hughes was a part of that jubilant dressing room, having featured prominently at the start of the qualification campaign in April.
She can look forward to potentially adding to her 23 caps for Wales at Euro 2025 next year.
Republic of Ireland
Izzy Atkinson & Abbie Larkin
Abbie Larkin and Izzy Atkinson were called up by Ireland manager Eileen Gleeson for their huge two-legged play-off against Wales.
Larkin and Atkinson both featured for the Republic of Ireland in the previous round of Euro 2025 qualifiers, as Ireland breezed past Georgia to progress to the final round of play-offs.
The first leg took place on Friday, 29th November where Larkin and Atkinson watched from the bench as the teams drew 1-1 at the Cardiff City stadium.
The second leg took place at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday, 3 December, with Larkin and Atkinson coming on from the bench on the 84th minute.
It was too little too late for Ireland, who lost the game 2-1 and were subsequently knocked out.
