Palace were looking for a way back into the game after Tara Bourne had just put the Saints 3-2 up with a penalty.
Then, on 58 minutes, Larkin received the ball on the edge of the box, weaved past two players and let fly from outside the box.
The ball whistled past Fran Stenson in the Southampton goal, crashed off the left post and nestled in the opposite corner.
The goal is up against efforts from Portsmouth’s Angelina Nixon and Meg Hornby; Sunderland's Katy Watson, and Southampton's Atlanta Primus and Megan Collett.
