A final day to remember at Selhurst Park saw JP's treble – which could have been four, but for a close-run VAR call – and a brace from Ebere Eze power Palace to a historic victory over the Villans, setting a catalogue of club records and securing a top-ten Premier League finish in the process.
The goals were Mateta's seventh, eighth and ninth strikes in his last six appearances, and marked Palace's first hat-trick on the final day of a season since Ian Wright's against Birmingham City in the 1988/89 season.
But in truth it was truly a day to remember in the Selhurst sunshine, with every player once again exemplary as the Eagles finished the season in spectacular style.
