Crystal Palace won the 2025 FA Community Shield to cap an extraordinary hat-trick of victories at Wembley this calendar year – and, for the second such match in-a-row, you voted goalkeeper Dean Henderson as your Player of the Match!
Oliver Glasner's heroic Eagles went toe-to-toe with the Premier League champions and claimed yet more history, lifting the trophy in what was our first-ever involvement in the annual fixture.
And it was once again Henderson who shone for you in particular beneath the arch, following up his penalty-saving heroics against Manchester City in May's FA Cup final with two further stops in Sunday afternoon's shoot-out.
His first was a wonderful low save down to his left to deny Alexis Mac Allister – Henderson duly doffing his cap to the jubilant Palace supporters in celebration – before the 'keeper sprung to his right to keep out Harvey Elliott's shot.
Combined with his three saves in the opening 90 minutes, those saves saw you award Henderson 52.0% of your Player of the Match votes.
Also catching your eye were Ismaïla Sarr, who won the penalty for our first goal, and clinically dispatched beyond Alisson for our second, to garner 18.0%; and Adam Wharton, who provided the assist for Sarr's effort, and received 13.6% of your votes.
