These are the days of Crystal Palace's lives – and a 4-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, to seal a club Premier League points record not long after winning the FA Cup at Wembley, saw you name Joel Ward as Player of the Match on his Selhurst Park farewell.
The Palace club captain's 364th appearance for the Eagles was to be his final one at Selhurst Park, after 13 years' outstanding service, one promotion – and one very recent FA Cup Final triumph.
Ward was in solid defensive form on his first Premier League start of the season, making three clearances and two important tackles.
With just under 20 minutes remaining, there was to be a truly heart-warming moment as Ward was given the fondest of farewells by teammates, fans and manager alike, exiting the pitch – amidst a Selhurst serenade – to be replaced by Daichi Kamada.
You duly awarded Ward 55.8% of your votes, with double goalscorer Eddie Nketiah also earning a strong 26.2%.
