The Croatia international arrived at Selhurst Park on a three-year deal last week and made his non-competitive debut in Saturday's 1-0 win over Millwall.

Sosa was born in the Prečko neighbourhood of Zagreb, the capital and largest city in Croatia, with his footballing journey beginning in his home city.

After working his way through the academy, Sosa represented Dinamo for three years at senior level - twice winning the league and cup double, featuring as a regular member of the team on the second occasion.

Capped at under-21 level by Croatia, Sosa left home for the first time in the summer of 2018, moving to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Developing his game as an exciting, attack-minded wing-back, he would spend five years in southern Germany, gaining invaluable experience along the way.

The 2022/23 season saw Sosa help the team to the German Cup semi-final and stabilise in the Bundesliga after first winning promotion in 2020.

To date Sosa has 26 caps for his country, scoring twice. Below he is pictured making his senior Croatia debut, in a draw against Russia back in September 2021.

Called up to the World Cup finals squad in 2022, Sosa made five appearances as Croatia reached the semi-finals, before eventually finishing third.

Sosa followed up his time with in Germany by joining Dutch giants Ajax, where he also spent a season out on-loan at Serie A outfit Torino.

Now arrives the next chapter in the career of Borna Sosa, with the Premier League set to be the fifth top-flight domestic league he has competed in.
