Palace welcome back inspirational young Bradley Lowery Foundation fundraisers

Crystal Palace are proud to welcome back 11-year-old Isaac O’Connor, for the second season in a row, as he continues his incredible journey in raising funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.

In August 2024, Isaac and his grassroots football team came to Selhurst Park last season, as part of an incredible fundraising event where they visited all 20 Premier League grounds as quickly as possible.

They returned to SE25 last week as part of a two-part fundraiser: where they aimed to sit on every seat at Selhurst Park and then to follow it up with a walk from Newcastle United’s St James’ Park to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

Chris, Isaac’s dad shared his thoughts while he was at Selhurst Park: “When we visited the 20 Premier League grounds last season, we came here and saw how friendly the staff were and how accommodating your Chairman Steve Parish was.

“So I reached out again and, as a result of that, we're here today and the boys are sitting in all 26,000 seats today in a sort of a 12-13 hour period before we then move on up to Newcastle for the walk between St James' Park and Sunderland.

“This is the core of our challenge this year is to do this event and we're really grateful for Crystal Palace, what a club, a tremendous club with community values and raising money for such a great cause with the Bradley Lowery Foundation.”

Isaac’s fundraising mission gained national media attention, featuring on ITV’s Good Morning Britain at the start of the challenge to sit on every seat at Selhurst Park.

“There's something about this ground as well, and to be able to do it here is amazing. The fact that it's gone on Good Morning Britain, as well as other media outlets, it's amazing really.

“The club have donated a signed shirt, which will be auctioned to raise funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation’s ‘Cancer Has No Colours,’ campaign. They’ve also opened the stadium up at five o'clock this morning for Good Morning Britain to come and film and for us to get started.

“Cancer Has No Colours is a great initiative that the Bradley Lowery Foundation does. They're raising all the time, because they offer respite homes for families who are affected by childhood cancer, they trial a lot of medication, they offer support to families all the time, they do so much work within the community that's often unseen."

This is Isaac’s fifth fundraising event for the Bradley Lowery Foundation, which will see him conclude at the Stadium of Light, the home of Sunderland – the team Bradley himself was a massive fan of.

Commenting on the fundraiser, Isaac said: “It’s amazing to be honest, we're raising for such a good cause. I feel so bad for the family and everyone that's suffering from cancer, so raising money and showing awareness is the least we could do.

“It’s amazing really that we've had the opportunity to do this. I'm really proud, not just of myself but of me and Isaac as well because it's a really important thing that we're doing and I'm really happy that we've done it.”

Jack, Isaac’s friend taking part in the fundraising challenges with him also said: “It felt peculiar to be on live TV, but really good because I've been on it once before or twice I think! It's really good to share Bradley's story and to raise awareness for the campaigns.

“The walk will be a challenge, but we’re both going to push through it and raise as much as we can for the charity.”

Indeed, Isaac and Jack did complete the challenge of sitting on every seat at Selhurst Park and the walk from St James’ Park to the Stadium of Light the following day, surpassing over 50% of their donation target - Click HERE to donate to their fundraiser!

Isaac's dad Chris concluded by saying: “It's amazing really to have Palace supporting this campaign. It's so refreshing as well that a club of this stature, the FA Cup winners, would accommodate us to do this and it's amazing. The link has been superb.”
